My husband and I stayed in room 311 on September 3, 2017. We have stayed at this motel several times and were very happy with our stays. This time the headboards, clock and lamps were very dusty, the shower curtain was very dirty and one of the beds looked like the sheets were not changed. The sheets looked like someone had layed on the bed because there were pressed wrinkles on the bottom sheet. Also the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. For the price we paid for the weekend, the room should have been cleaner. Why do you charge more for weekends?? On the plus side, the breakfast was great!!
We stayed here recently for a weekend getaway to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was a great choice. The rooms and beds were comfortable and clean. Some of the rooms (including ours) face the inner courtyard instead of outside, but I never noticed significant noise or other disruptions. There isn't any parking at the hotel itself, but they give you a pass to park in a nearby garage and will valet your car for free if you'd like. The included breakfast had plenty of options for everyone in our trip, and included many healthier choices. All the of staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely stay again next time we're in town.
I made 2 reservations at the beginning of October for the end of October. I then cancelled both rooms online 1 day after the initial reservation was made but only 1 room cancelled. My thinking was that I made both reservations at the same time, under the same name, they should cancel at the same time. I never received any other emails throughout the month pertaining to the stay. A friendly reminder would have been nice so that I would have realized that the room wasn't cancelled. My credit card statement afterwards was the only way I even knew that the room wasn't cancelled. No call from the hotel asking if I was going to make it, no reminder from any online site. I guess that's how this hotel chain makes an easy $250 off it's customers. The Hotel by Gold Dust however was awesome, they sent me a reminder 2 days before the date of the reservation.
Very pricey. Rooms are good, good hot breakfast, pool hot tub. Not affordable
Very nice accommodations. Free parking which is a plus in Deadwood. However, needed to walk through the casino to get to the hotel. False fire alarm at 12:30 a.m. was a bit disturbing but hopefully that's not a regular occurrence. No free breakfast included and no budget choices. Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable once you got there.
